Description

STEAM!, a USC Graduate Thesis Film by Jeffrey Simon, is an LGBT western musical thriller that will shoot for two weeks in July, in Durango, CO. We are seeking qualified candidates in the camera and grip department, production assistants, as well as supporting role actors and extras.

Logline: When the romantically misguided conductor (and tour guide) of a 19th century steam train meets a real cowboy (and psychopath), he derails his life in pursuit of his gay Western fantasy in this contemporary musical thriller.

Please note we are seeking volunteers or interns. We understand how unfair it is to ask anyone to work for free, but such is the reality of student filmmaking.

Jeffrey Simon is a 3rd year graduate student at USC. Previously he worked professionally as an Art Director (Filly Brown, Edge of Tomorrow, Spider-Man: Homecoming and others). Through his company, Gray Oak Productions, he directed two TV pilots—the Award-winning Camp Abercorn and the upcoming Dr. Scotty’s Intergalactic Motel and Café, the latter of which he also wrote the songs. He wrote, composed and directed a short film musical, SPARK: A Cautionary Musical that premiered at the Don Thompson LGBT Film Festival last year.
