NYC filmmaker/AD/camera operator-Chris Turner

Well versed in many camera systems, lighting, production design, scheduling/ managing, budgeting and non-linear editing, I think of myself as a filmmaker. I’ve been an assistant director in the Directors Guild of America, freelance producer and camera operator for 8 years. I’m very hands on and love to stay active; one speed. GO. Employers and co- workers immediately notice my work ethic and my ability to motivate those around me to prosper, having a blast in the process.

I have run IATSE film/ TV sets in NYC since 2012 on projects like The Blacklist, Gotham, Tell Me a Story and countless more. My life experiences as a sous chef, anthropologist and filmmaker have formed me into an asset for every professional video/ film or event company. My world perspective sets me apart from the competition. Brainstorming planned, detailed projects and on the fly makes me versatile in direction and time management. Pairing my technical abilities and creative insight always produces a superior product, even on the administrative side of production. If you need something cinematic, look no further.

I love climbing, backcountry/dispersed camping, playing music and photography; particularly film. It’s a dream of mine to be a field producer for NatGeo, Discovery or the BBC. I love mountains, oceans and wildlife; culture, food and filmmaking.
