James Page

My name is James Page. I am 28 years old and have lived in Malibu, CA my entire life and recently relocated to Durango, CO. For the last 10+ years I’ve been a Lifeguard with the California State Parks. I studied film production in college and have always enjoyed computer science and web development. Malibu, with its natural beauty and its proximity to Los Angeles and Hollywood, is a location many film companies use on a regular basis. My job as a lifeguard with the California State Parks has given me the opportunity to work on many of those film shoots. Small photo shoots and big Hollywood television shows like The Last Man on Earth. I’ve become very knowledgeable on set with the different layers of the production world.

On the off seasons of my lifeguarding career, I pick up side hustle jobs working on websites. I have worked as a camera operator and media manager for my father, Richard Page, lead singer/bass player and principal songwriter of the multi-platinum rock band Mr. Mister. I am the website manager for richardpagemusic.com. In addition, I worked on set for my sister Aja Page’s music video ‘Firefly‘.

I am most interested in website design, search engine optimization and social media marketing. I have picked up several design jobs with some of my dad’s friends on multiple projects, including allthingsmalibu.com of which I am a share holder. The site was recently sold to the City of Malibu. This experience helped me better understand E-Commerce and the nuances of Social Media.

I now work part time as a Lifeguard, focusing more on film production and web development and decided to create this website to showcase my skills.
